Product Description
This is a lovely vintage brass hinged carpenter’s ruler called a laiton in French. It contains 10 hinged lengths of 10cm each, with brass rivets, and cm and mm markings. It is stamped with the word metre and the maker’s mark DEL can still be seen on the ruler.
I think it is too lovely to be used as a ruler and had fun forming it into the shape of a star. It would be a fantastic Christmas decoration or even just to hang on the wall as a decorative piece.
I haven’t scrubbed the markings of age and use as I think they add to the appearance of the ruler. It shows it has been well used as some of the sections are slightly bent.
